Repair the existing system or replace it?
A fault does not automatically mean you need a new air conditioner. We consider the confirmed problem, age, corrosion, repair history and parts availability before explaining your options. A diagnostic visit is separate from a free installation quote. Where both choices are practical, compare the repair scope with the cost of a replacement.
Replacing a wall-mounted split system
We check the room's requirements rather than simply matching the old unit's capacity. We also assess the indoor and outdoor positions, pipework route, drainage, mounting and electrical supply. Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu are among the supply-and-install options we can discuss for bedrooms, living areas and home offices.
Can the existing pipes and power be reused?
Reuse depends on condition, sizing, refrigerant and manufacturer requirements for the new equipment. Existing pipework, interconnecting cable, drainage or electrical supply may need changes. Your quote explains the proposed work so an apparently simple changeover does not rely on assumptions about hidden or ageing services.
Ducted replacement needs a whole-system check
The indoor and outdoor units are only part of a ducted installation. Duct sizing, insulation, return air, outlets and zone controls also affect performance. We inspect accessible equipment and discuss any ductwork or controller changes with you, including AirTouch options where compatible.
Planning a replacement before winter
Reverse-cycle air conditioning provides heating as well as cooling. If your old system struggled through summer, a planned assessment before cooler weather gives you time to compare repairs and replacement options. Mention poor heating, uneven rooms, noises or repeated breakdowns when you enquire; we will confirm availability and suitable next steps.
What to send for a replacement quote
Send your suburb, photos of both units and their model labels, the room dimensions or floor plan, and a photo showing access to the outdoor equipment. For apartments, mention balcony access, body corporate approval and any restrictions on unit locations. We confirm removal of the old equipment and the installation scope in your written quote.
